To date there are three collections of Kevin Candela short stories (with a couple of novellas thrown in) – 49 stories in total, the same tally (coincidentally) as the series total for the original TV series The Outer Limits that was definitely an inspiration for the writer growing up…and as he wrote these tales. A Year in the Borderlands is a little more than simply a collection though, as it is a themed sequence where the stories coincide with various parts of the calendar year (months and holidays.) The other two collections, Playing With Reality and Lost Radio, feature both new/previously unpublished stories along with stories that have previously only been featured in anthologies and/or the writer’s own “Super SF Double Feature” series, wherein two short stories or novellas are paired in a single release of less than novel length.
